The systems are built around a number of sensors that are placed throughout your home. When they're triggered, such as when a burglar opens a door while the system is armed, they send a signal to the alarm panel, which is basically the brain of the alarm system.
When the panel receives a signal from one of the sensors, it sends an alert to our Monitoring Centre. Professional operators in the Monitoring Centre will see this alert, and deal with it by contacting you or the authorities, depending on the situation. This is what we mean by a monitored alarm system. (Please note that monitored alarm systems usually give you a 10 to 15 percent discount on your home insurance.)
Our alarm systems all have door/window sensors as well as motion sensors that can protect you from burglars. Some of them also have smoke, CO, and environmental detectors that can help you avoid a fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage.
You usually interact with the alarm system via a keypad. Some of these have buttons, while others are touchscreen. Some systems, though, don't come with a keypad. You control them via a smartphone app. Some of our systems also come with a key fob like the one you probably use with your car. You can arm and disarm your security system using these technologies.
